Introduction to the expert panel; who they are and how they can help

11am–12pm

Expert panel discussion: How to live well with a lower-limb condition 

The expert panel will discuss the key principles of living with a long-term lower-limb condition, and discuss the evidence for what works and what doesn’t. Discussion will include:
● What do we know about living with long-term conditions? 
● What is the underlying cause of lower-limb conditions? How problems with the veins/lymphatics cause symptoms that can be seen/felt 
● Why we treat lower-limb conditions as we do; skin and wound care, compression therapy; exercise and elevation
● Role of health and wellness (role of exercise, nutrition, mental health and coping strategies)
● Working in partnership with your clinician for long-term success and what to do if you are unhappy with your care.

Ask the experts  

An opportunity for delegates to meet the experts and receive advice on problems commonly encountered for people with lower limb conditions. Advice will be given in the following key areas: 
● Sleep and pain 
● Managing your condition in partnership with your healthcare professional 
● Coping with a long-term condition (psychological aspects)
● Skin and wound care 
● Compression.
